As a direct result of the extreme floods in Thailand, HOYA’s global supply chain has been temporarily disrupted. In spite of this natural disaster, we are fortunate to report that no HOYA Thailand employees or family members have been harmed. While flood waters were rising, HOYA voluntarily shut down our Thailand Rx production center on October 12th in order to safeguard our employees and take measures to protect the facilities. The flood waters, coinciding with rising tides, breached our facility this past weekend. The damage assessment is still ongoing, and it is too early to say how long the production will be suspended at the facility. At this time, Friends In Need Foundation is taking donations to help off set any financial hardships our Hoya Thailand family members may incur during this stoppage in normal work routines. Many employees have lost everything, including their homes. 100% of monies donated will go to the Hoya Thailand employees. We appreciate any help you can provide.
Friends in Need is acting as the fiscal manager for donations from the public to be used to help US families impacted in Thailand from the recent flooding.
